Colliers Expands to NoVa, Taps Klaff as Head of Expansion
Colliers International opened a new office in McLean, VA, and launched a regional property management practice in Washington, DC.
Commercial real estate veteran Andrew Klaff was tapped as executive vice president and director of the NoVa expansion. The regional specialist was most recently a senior vice president and top producer in Grubb & Ellis’ Office Group in Tysons Corner.
“This is big news for the commercial real estate services industry throughout the District and within other critical markets such as Northern Virginia,” said Tim Hague, executive managing director of Colliers’ metro Washington, DC region. “By launching a new office across the Potomac, we are accelerating our market-leading presence in the region.

Avison Young Grows Retail Platform With 2 New Hires
Avison Young expanded its retail practice in Atlanta with the addition of Tonya Creekmore, far left, and Tina Harris, left.
Creekmore, a commercial real estate veteran with nearly 20 years in the industry, was appointed principal and will focus on business development, asset management and anchor-tenant deals.
Her early experience includes eight years at Ben Carter Properties leasing retail development projects. Creekmore moved on to increase her leadership, shopping center development, company operations and oversight skills as a partner at North American Properties. For the last three years she focused on big box and peripheral land leasing/development as a vice president at General Growth Properties. During her career, she’s secured and negotiated deals with national retailers including Target, Sam’s Club, J.C. Penney, Kohl’s and Home Depot.
Harris joined the industry 15 years ago. She spent a decade as a top producer at GGP negotiating retail transactions and leasing projects like Coastland, Governor’s Square, Northpark, Oglethorpe, Peachtree and Regency Square. Harris will concentrate on in-line mall leasing as a senior retail leasing representative for Avison Young.

Jones Lang LaSalle Promotes International Directors

Moody Rambin Taps Barbles as SVP
Jeffrey Barbles joined Moody Rambin Interests as senior vice president.
Barbles will focus on the growth of project leasing and management within the Moody’s Industrial Services Group. He was previously a principal at NAI Houston where he was a multiple year top 10 producer.
He has more than 20 years of real estate experience and will bring a 1.5 million-square-foot multitenant industrial portfolio to the firm.

Brady, Ballner Join Sun Commercial Team
Lisa M. Brady joined Sun Commercial Real Estate as senior vice president and senior associate, respectively.
Brady will lead the team at Sun Commercial. She has 15 years of investment sales, leasing, land acquisition, tenant representation and property management experience in the Las Vegas market.
Brady previously worked as the managing director of investment sales and leasing division for Gatski Commercial, and as senior director of the asset consulting group at Commerce Real Estate Solutions / Cushman and Wakefield Alliance. Brady has served as a member for NAIOP and is currently studying for the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) exam.

Calamos Real Estate Appoints New President
Calamos Real Estate, the developer and property manager for entities owned by Calamos Property Holdings LLC, selected Spyros G. Kapsalis, previously the head of Sunlight Capital Corp., as its new president. Kapsalis will oversee the leasing and management of the company’s existing facilities, along with the development of additional properties and the evaluation of new investment opportunities.
Calamos Property’s interests include: CityGate Center and its properties–Hotel Arista, Sugar Toad restaurant, CityGate Grille restaurant, 406,300 square feet of office space, 56,600 square feet of retail space including build-to-suit opportunities and 12 additional acres for development. The marquis tenant of the development is Calamos Investments, which to date has managed $38 billion in assets for institutional and individual clients worldwide.
